What Athletes Say

“I come see Dr. Cummins for a couple of reasons, primarily because Bob is a well trained medical professional, and secondly because Bob and Anna are “World Class” athletes that know how to communicate with and care for performance athletes. Dr. Cummins was able to help give me immediate relief for my sore back whenever I have had the need. I have already recommended several athletes to Dr. Cummins clinic. I appreciate Dr. Cummins positive approach to recovery medicine.”

“As the Health & Wellness Coordinator for Cummins Chiropractic, I love to tell my chiropractic testimonial. I was a total skeptic of chiropractic care after the 2004 Athens Olympics and had never been seen by a chiropractor. While training for the next Olympics, my back really flared up, as it typically would every few months. What was different this time was that my massage therapist encouraged me to see if chiropractic could help. I saw my first chiropractor and followed his treatment plan. I didn’t know how it worked, but it got me back on the water fast, doing what I loved, and kept me there! Leading up to my gold medal performance in Beijing, my back and entire body were doing great because I kept with maintenance chiropractic care and kept pressing my body towards being the best it could be. I had minimal injuries and minimal sickness. I am now very passionate about spreading the word to all people, especially athletes, about the importance of chiropractic care. All chiropractors have the goal of bringing your central nervous system to optimal function and all athletes benefit when they are going away from sickness or injury and towards gold medal health!”

“P.S. – The spine is connected to everything! Directly or indirectly through the nerves. Spinal health is like dental health. Your teeth will be healthy if you brush, floss multiple times daily, eat healthy, exercise and don’t smoke, or drink heavily. It’s the same for your spine! Dr. Cummins will show you spinal exercises that you can do daily (like brushing and flossing). This office encourages overall health: exercising, eating a healthy diet, and getting enough sleep. Through traction, regular adjustments and home exercises you will see results. I originally came in to see Dr. Cummins because he was on board with my Crossfit endeavors. I felt my upper back was always tight and when I would get a massage, it would feel good during and after, but it wouldn’t feel to be enough relief. This has plagued me throughout my life. Now, I don’t feel as tight in my upper back muscles. Dr. Cummins took x-rays of my spine and I was in shock at how crooked my spine was. It could have been an old lady who hunched! Once we got to the root of the problem, it was obvious I had been overcompensating using my muscles. Now I feel like I am on track to having a straight spine and avoiding “spinal cavities” for life! This office is great because they want their patients to be well educated on the healing process. Highly recommended.”

“I have always been a bit skeptical about Chiropractors and Naturopathy in general. I have had many bad experiences with both and will say that I entered treatment with Dr. Bob with skepticism and doubt. I am a 14-year veteran of the Seal Teams and have experienced my fair share of injuries to include two ACL repairs, three Medial Meniscus repairs, two disk repairs and numerous other ailments associated with a hard lifestyle. After one month of treatment that includes very minimal invasive adjustments, I felt better than I had felt in years. My strength is up almost 65% across all my major lifts. I can once again do plus 20-pull-ups and I was able to run for the first time in over 6-months, and run well I might add. Dr. Bob and his lovely wife, Anna, and his patient staff welcomed me with open arms and a patient optimism, as I am not the most punctual or patient client. Bravo Zulu Dr. Bob thank you for helping me.“

“When I came into Dr. Bob’s practice, I had been having lower back trouble on and off for two years. I have been to physical therapists and other chiropractors and while all provided temporary relief, none offered a solution to fix my back trouble long term. My low back pain has decreased significantly and I am more aware of my spine and how my daily actions affect it. I had hurt my back over the summer and have had back issues for the past few years with rowing, so I thought I would give chiropractic treatment a try to see if it could solve some of the problems. The most important improvement I have had is that my lower back doesn’t hurt as much and the muscles are not as tight. I would recommend treatment with Dr. Bob to others because it is a solution for the long-term effects of a problem. Other solutions may help for a short time, but this is a life long change process. Dr. Bob and Anna are awesome!”

“I came in to see Dr. Cummins as a very competitive rower, but my back pain was preventing me from rowing. I was very skeptical that I would be back in the boat anytime soon. Less than two weeks later, I was healthy enough to row again. Since then, I won the regional championship in both the varsity eight and the varsity four. I have been pain free for over a month, I feel better now than I ever have, and I have Dr. Cummins to thank for that.”
- Dan Rinker, Green Lake V8+ 2009 Regional Champion

“I was always apprehensive to see a chiropractor but after going to Dr. Cummins, I wanted to share my positive experience. I originally went to see Dr. Cummins for a kinked neck. Being a busy mom of 3 kids, and a Crossfitter, I couldn’t afford to have a stiff neck interrupt my daily life. After my initial exam, Dr. Cummins came up with a game plan and said it would be a team effort. I had exercises and stretches to do at home to maintain the results received at the office. After the first few visits I also noticed that the arthritis in my knees and hands were subsiding. Then I realized that the nagging sciatica pain was decreasing. I’ve lived with lower back pain for so many years that it was a “normal” feeling for me. Another unexpected benefit was that my slow digestive system seemed to have been “awaken”, and I also started to have regular monthly cycles. Something I’ve never had all my life. I have received all these additional benefits from seeing Dr. Cummins for what I originally thought was just a kinked neck. I never knew the health of my spine effected the overall health of my emotional and physical well being. Thank you Dr. Cummins!”

“I highly recommend Dr. Bob Cummins as a chiropractor. My 18-year old daughter is a competitive softball pitcher who had a chronic shoulder injury. Her orthopedic surgeon recommended us to Dr. Cummins. The surgeon emphasized that Dr. Cummins understood shoulders well: in addition to his medical skills, Dr. Cummins and his wife are world-class athletes in rowing. After the examination and review of X-rays, Dr. Cummins devised a plan of treatment. My daughter followed the plan and experienced significant improvement. She was pitching strong in time for the main softball season to be underway. Some key differentiators between Dr. Cummins’ approach compared to other chiropractors’ approach (Over time, I myself have been to three different practitioners and appreciate the following from Dr. Cummins): 1. Unlike some other chiropractors, Dr. Cummins had a plan with metrics for success to be achieved. Once those metrics were met, the visits stopped. 2. Like many chiropractors, Dr. Cummins is a caring practitioner. In our case though, he and those who work in his office really connected with my daughter. She dutifully went to the appointments and followed the plan. This was not her normal practice. She actually looked forward to going to their office and feeling the positive energy sent her way. Dr. Cummins is the best chiropractor that my family has been fortunate to work with.”
