Our Tailored Approach to Spinal Traction Therapy
Unlike many offices that simply offer traction as a generic service, we prescribe it as part of a full-body postural correction plan. That means your traction isn’t just pulling for the sake of relief—it’s restoring balance to your spine, nervous system, and musculoskeletal foundation. Our advanced, customized spinal traction therapy is designed to correct deep-rooted structural issues—making it especially effective for difficult, chronic cases that haven’t responded to other treatments. Combined with mirror-image adjustments, laser therapy, and
Power Plate exercises, spinal traction becomes a powerful tool in your long-term recovery.
Phase 1: Correct the Structure
This phase is where the real spinal correction begins. Most pain-relief therapies never get this far—they focus on temporary relief. But
CBP traction uses physics, repetition, and time to actually reshape the spine and improve posture, which leads to:
- Reduced nerve pressure
- Better biomechanics
- Increased long-term function and health
To reshape spinal alignment, reduce subluxations, and begin reversing abnormal postural patterns, patients typically undergo regular traction sessions, often 2-4 times per week. Their traction set-up is designed to
mirror-image the patient’s abnormal posture. Research shows that results are still present 6-12 months later when proper stabilization protocols are followed.
Phase 2: Train the Body to KEEP the Correction
Improvements are maintained longer when the stabilization phase is completed with mirror-image exercises and rehabilitation.
Example: A 2002 study in
Spine Journal showed that CBP cervical traction resulted in significant restoration of the cervical lordosis (neck curve), leading to reduced pain and better function. Thirty patients received a novel mirror‑image (3‑point bending) cervical extension traction combined with spinal manipulation over 8‑10 weeks.
Results showed a statistically significant increase of ~12° Cobb angle at C2–C7, ~14° global lordosis increase, and ~6 mm reduction in anterior head translation. At 15½‑month follow‑up, lordosis maintenance was observed in most patients with only ~3.5° of loss, confirming durability.
